Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil (1963) was written by Hannah Arendt (1906-1975), who covered Eichmann’s trial for the New Yorker. Arendt had the good sense to leave Germany early on, and the trial gave her a perfect chance to reflect on what had occurred under the Nazi regime.
